These pieces for Renaissance guitar were published in 1546 by Alfonso Mudarra, as part of his Tres libros de Musica para vihuela. The original tuning of the Renaissance guitar was from the treble down: A E C G. The lowest, 4th course was octaved in the same way as "bourdons" were octaved on a Renaissance lute. So, the relative tuning was equivalent to that of the 4 upper strings of a modern guitar, and the pieces can be played at pitch with the original fingerings with a capo on the 5th fret.

If you want to understand more about the Renaissance guitar, its tuning[s] and practice during the Renaissance and Baroque times, I recommend that you read the article by Michael Fink at http://www.lgv-pub.com/Essays/Fink_-_Tuning_paper.pdf.
